Do you know what a funnel is?

Yes, of course you do! Likely you know what a sales funnel is too!

But just for those of you who you don’t it’s a simple process of taking a visitor and “funnelling them through a process”..

In it’s basic format it looks something like this…

Now in this process you have information, support, guidance, up selling, cross selling, down selling and back end selling… You may have training, cloning and a truckload of other goodies going on..

People may leave this funnel at any given point, but you can “control” to some point how they leave your processing.

Many people in Internet Marketing have asked me…..
“How do I get people into my list to begin with..”?

Well there are MANY ways, but one that I personally love and one that I know my own mentor teaches is…

Get them at FREE or BETTER than FREE!

So what can you give to someone that is better than free that will help you to build your list?

Well, lets look at that in more detail first.

Have a process in mind when you start this step.. Understand where you are ‘leading’ your visitor, do not just think one step ahead, have a plan, a goal, a purpose and to quote what Mike Filsaime teaches.. “Begin with the end in Mind…. “

My latest quote, one that I think I lay claim to is this…..

“Focus lets you see further on down the road… Action, takes you there…”

So combining the two methods above, we already have a strong guiding force to ensure we build that list.

One is to have the focus, the foresight to know where we are headed, where we want to take our members on their journey and we also have the strategy implemented, we are taking action to put this machine in motion.

I call it a machine, because provided you set this right, you could in reality have a detachment from the whole process once it kicks into motion and you could simply become an observer and watch the whole process unfold..

Lets look at flower arranging as my example.. Lets say that this was my area of expertise, then I would probably start with a free eBook or better still a free video on basic flower arranging techniques and or tips…

That would be something my audience would be interested in, and they would be willing to share their email address for!

What is the cost of this method?

Well, there are MANY things you could use, and you do not even have to create them yourself.

Think about original marketing techniques… Offline, you would have to pay to advertise in a magazine, newspaper or journal in your field. You could pay for leaflets, inserts, TV ads, Radio ads, Business Cards, gift items with your contact information on and much more to spread the word about your business.. But this would not come cheap!

Now you can set up a web site, create a product at a very low budget and then give that away for free in return for the right to market to them in future – their email address..

Better still, you create a method for making money on the upsell to this free exchange and then you give that first upsell to your members to keep a high percentage of the profit.. This makes them an affiliate of your product, and they will then “advertise” on your behalf..

The incentive for them is income and to let people know about a great service or product you have and you get more names on your list to market to for the future…

NEW WAYS TO EARN MORE MONEY AS A WRITER

One common theme among writers is how to make more money. Unless we
have a spouse whose job includes health insurance, 401K's, and have
a fortunate ability to pick winning lottery numbers, we all plot and
plan to earn more each week, each month, each year.

Just like a varied diet keeps our health on track, a varied approach
to writing keeps our income healthy.

A common dilemma is that once we get in tight with an editor at a
well-paying magazine, the editor moves, the magazine closes, or
both. Newspapers cut back on weekly columnists; magazines are
narrowing down their stable of regular writers so it's hard to break
in somewhere new.

While we are living with the changes in our writing opportunities,
why not focus on opening new doors instead of fretting about
familiar doors shutting in our faces.

Learn to write press releases. Every business needs someone who can
write a kick-butt press release to get them free publicity. You can
grab some books or search for articles online but writing a press
release varies little from writing an article. It's just that you
and the editors you're sending it to understand that you are
pitching a story that they can run without paying for it. Add press
releases to your resume and you can bid on freelance auction sites
and earn over $120 per press release as a novice. Seek clients
locally, build on your successes and you could end up living off
your publicity earnings.

Love to write how-to articles? Why not expand on your favorite
topics and turn them into ebooks? My first venture into ebooks was
to take an old writing class that I was no longer teaching and
simply turn it into one document, each lesson equaled a chapter. I
turned it into a PDF, opened an account on payloadz.com, and sent
out an email to my list saying I had a new ebook. I made dozens of
sales the first week, and the sales continue today. Total time? I
spent one day creating the ebook from lessons I had already written.
You could do the same from information articles you've penned, or
from information you have stashed in your head. You can sell ebooks
from your website, booklocker.com, or on ebay.com .

Learn SEO. Imagine my surprise when someone asked me to write a
series of articles based on instructions from his SEO advisor. I had
to look it up. Search Engine Optimization is hot and will continue
to be a skill that puts you in front of the parade of writers.
Simply put, SEO is using keywords (or words that people use in
search engines when looking for what you have to offer) throughout
your website and meta tags that are picked up by search engines. You
want your website to have the words that your potential readers and
clients will use to find someone who will provide the services that
you long to sell. Yes, it's getting more complex but for more
website owners looking for a content provider, you can learn to use
online programs that will help you determine which string of search
words will bring the most visitors to any site.

Teach what you know. Write up a workshop, pitch it to a local
college, church, association, group, or community center. With a
little publicity, anyone can fill a class on the subject of her
choice. Do you want to teach cooking classes? Would it surprise you
to know that Food Network star, and now talk show host, Rachael Ray
started teaching 30-minute cooking classes near her home to pay
bills, and that led a local tv station to offer her a special, then
weekly show. Then came a cookbook, Food Network, special
appearances, and on and on. You may not make it as far, as fast as
she did, but you can make money to pay bills by teaching workshops.
People are willing to pay between $35 to $135 for a half day
workshop. And as a writer, you know how to organize and write a
class.

Try to get a column (or two). At one point I was writing four
regular columns. I had to do little more than those to meet my
financial goals. Start off by choosing a theme for your column,
write down a list of 12 to 36 ideas and find local, regional and
national markets. The guarantee of regular income each week or each
month from a column is a wonderful feeling for freelance writers.

Prepare yourself for the ups and downs of the writing life by
learning new ways to make more money!

OH MAN, I just lost my cool on the phone with the E-PRO AUCTION people.
FIRST this is my fourth call and 2nd fax to these people. The woman that I was speaking to had such poor english that she was not understandable and she talked really, really fast, that is my first bitch. Now they are telliing me that they never received my fax...HOW CONVENIENT! Please fax it again.

I asked nicely for the phone number of the corporate offices and of COURSE they are having phone issues and aren't not able to give out a number at this time. SO I told her about the bad press that is all over the internet and that my case was duplicate of everything I had read. She then started to talk so fast with the run around garbage and just fax the copy again and she is sure it will be taken care of.
I ended up hanging up on her as she would not stop talking long enough to hear what I was saying.

Oh, I also asked for an address to mail this to them and she said NO that I had to fax it. Apparantly they have no address or phone, just a fax number.

I am going to hound them until I get some satisfaction.

5 Easy Steps to Writing Articles that Make you Money!

I am SO bent on promoting my bad experience with the E-PRO AUCTIONS Co. that I may just put up a website about it. Perhaps a website where we all can post our bad experiences/scams and what have you. What do you think? I like it!

I still had not heard anything from E-PRO AUCTIONS as of this morning SOOO I got on the phone with their support people and told them the whole story AGAIN and he said he was going to demand some follow up with my case and told me to call him back in 24 hours, well we will see tomorrow.

The Internet is Crawling with...

... cheap lists and sites full of middlemen, resellers and closeout liquidators that charge you membership fees and overblown prices for junk products!

The creators of those lists and sites are irresponsible people who couldn't care less what happens to you. They pad their lists with the names of hundreds, or even thousands of companies that are USELESS to you, and they KNOW IT! You'll waste valuable time and money finding out that the information you bought is virtually worthless.

I'm constantly amazed at people who still think that cheaper is better. Every once in a while, someone will write us and ask "Why should I pay more for one of YOUR Directories, when I can buy one of those others that are $10 cheaper, or even for just $15.00, or $6.00, or only $3.00?"

The answer is simple. It's a fundamental truth, and we all know the answer already.

I am WAITING for some response from the E PRO Aucion company.
I faxed a copy of my Visa statement with the double charges on it
yesterday and I haven't heard a thing yet.

I bet they are going to just blow me off and not respond at all.
Well I don't think I will let it go. I think I will have to pursue
legal avenues. It's the principle here. They have ripped off MANY
people and I would love to see them brought down. I realize it would
take the effots of many to get them to give but darn it - it just
might be what has to be done.

I remember my mother (passed away in 1986 at the age of 56) told me she did a lot of reading of "Norman Vincent Peale" I believe the book was called "The Power of Positive Thinking"?? not real sure but she told that is what helped her the most when she was going through her divorce from my dad. DAMN IT! I was ripped off...

by a company called E Pro Auctions.

I found two charges on my credit card today. They are for $49.95 and they are two days apart. Well I didn't even recognize the company as it is something that I don't use and don't remember even reading about.
So I called the number and of course reached a non english speaking person, well they did speak english but it was very poor and I had a really hard time communicating with them.
Come to find out I have been caught by a major rip off. I did manage to get the account cancelled but they refused to refund my money. They couldn't even tell me why I was charged twice. The gal gave me a fax number to the corporate office to show them the double charge and maybe I can get $49.95 back.
I then got online and searched for E Pro Auctions and found that EVERYONE is being
ripped off in just the same manner as I. A couple of people have managed to get their money back but most did not. I sure am going to do my best to get it back.
I have already called my bank and am going down to sign some papers in a bit. I will also fax the information to their corporate headquarters and see what they do for me.

I have to tell you about DentalPlans.com. I am sure I have probably mentioned that I am going through a divorce after 18 years of marriage and being a stay at home mom with no income of my own. Well needless to say I have plenty to worry about...like what am I going to do about insurance? I will no longer have dental or health insurance, this is SO SCARY as I have medical issues and see my doctor regularly.
Well I am so excited as I have found a very reputable (member BBB) insurance provider AND the prices are affordable. The prices are 60% discounted from regular prices. I also figured that there would be no dentists or doctors in my area and I was wrong. There are many and good ones that I know are very reputable.

Be careful with this one
I joined the Plug In Profit site one month ago with the promise of my first check at day 30. Well guess what...yup I haven't made a dime. I followed every step of the 30 day quide to the tee and purchased the up level excessories of everything that was suggested as to maximize my earnings. I really was excited because this program was approved by "The Rich Jerk" whom I was also told was a legitimate money making program.
I did get some traffic going and am really surprised with over 2,400 hits for 30 days that there wasn't one sale, I just have a hard time with that??

Well as of this morning I did shut down everything related with that program except of course my SFI as I know FOR SURE that is the most reliable money making program out there.

I know I can't afford to throw away money like this and I am sure most of you can't either. Well there is my take on Plug In Profits.

Well there are tons of articles, and pay for e-books to help you create ad copy, but there is a free and easy way to create your own ads which sell, sell sell.

you can avoid home business scams.

If you're thinking of working from home you have to realize that at least 99% of the offers out there are scams. Now really if is so easy to pay a few dollars and make thousands, wouldn't everyone be doing it by now? Here are the biggest scams out there, how to recognize them, and how to avoid them.

First where did you see the "Big Money" work from home offer? If you received it in your email, saw a poster tacked to a bulletin board or one of those little signs on the side of the road then I can almost guarantee you that it’s not a legitimate offer. If you saw an ad in a newspaper, a job magazine or on a job website, then it’s more likely to be legitimate but not always. Remember always check out any offer, and assume it’s a scam until you have proof it's not.

Envelope Stuffing is one of the most established work from home scams. The way it works is once you pay your money and sign up to work from home, you are sent a set of envelopes and ads just like the one you responded to. Then you stuff your envelopes and pay to send them out. You could make some money if someone responds to your ad but the chances are slim. Don't waste your money on this one.

Home assemblers wanted. Charging for supplies is hard to pin down to any one scam it’s the way almost all work at home scams work. First you will be asked invest in the materials needed to do the work and then you will be sent very cheap materials that aren't worth anything like what you paid for them. This software might appear to be from a completely unrelated company, but don't be fooled. The whole reason the work from home ad was there to begin with was a sneaky way to sell you their software.

1. When you make your first sale, follow-up with the customer. You could follow-up with a "thank you" email and include an advertisement for other products you sell. You could follow-up every few months.

2. You could upsell to your customers. When they're at your order page, tell them about a few extra related products you have for sale. They could just add it to their original order.

3. Tell your customers if they refer four customers to your web site, they will receive a full rebate of their purchase price. This will turn one sale into three sales.

4. When you sell a product, give your customers the option of joining an affiliate program so they can make commissions selling your product. This will multiply the sale you just made.

5. Sell the reprint/reproduction rights to your products. You could include an ad on or with the product for other products you sell. You could make sales for the reproduction rights and sales on the back end product.

6. You could cross promote your product with other businesses' products in a package deal. You can include an ad or flyer for other products you sell and have other businesses selling for you.

7. When you ship out or deliver your product, include a coupon for other related products you sell in the package. This will attract them to buy more products from you.

8. Send your customers a catalog of add-on products for the original product they purchased. This could be upgrades, special services, attachments, etc. If they enjoy your product they will buy the extra add-ons.

9. Sell gift certificates for your products. You'll make sales from the purchase of the gift certificate, when the recipient cashes it in. They could also buy other items from your web site.

10. Send your customers free products with their product package. The freebies should have your ad printed on them. It could be bumper stickers, ball caps, t-shirts etc. This will allow other people to see your ad and order.
